Objective
The increase in waste generation has become a cause for concern hence urgent and new cost effective waste disposal solutions are crucial. Due to illegal dump sites and shortage of landfill space, the Department of Environmental affairs has come up with a waste management strategy which is aimed at waste separation at source.
It is the aim of this two-day workshop to enlighten, provide participants with essential principles and insights on waste management procedures. The workshop will discuss strategies which will be advantageous in attaining better separation at source and look at disadvantages posed by improper landfill and waste management. Case studies on new methods of combating the challenges will be discussed during the course of the workshop.
